If you’ve been looking around for a good off-road camper, you would have noticed that some camping caravans and trailers don’t seem to deliver on quality and durability. They might perform on the long roads and highways, but none can compete with Conqueror campers for guaranteed performance when you want to go off-road.

There are plenty of great dams and reserves perfect for camping around South Africa, but the most breath-taking sights require some dirt-road travelling, and maybe even a stretch of beach or rocky hill paths. This is where our off-road campers prove they are a step above the rest. With our roots in military contracting and over 30 years of improvements and design changes, we have ended up with a range of campers with unmatched durability and convenience for off-road exploring.

While they come in a variety of shapes and sizes, all of our off-road campers have an outstandingly tough foundation in common. We use electro-galvanised steel in our frames, which we designed to be modular. This means that each main section of the frame can be removed and replaced if the need arises, which we ensured by using top-quality fasteners to combine parts instead of welding. This has the additional benefit of efficiently sharing load stresses between components, thereby avoiding the concentrated stresses that welding can result in.

The body of our off-road campers is also designed with superior off-road performance in mind. We make use of lightweight materials like aluminium to reduce overall weight. The parts are also powder-coated where possible, to protect the surface from scratching and other damage. We only use RipStop canvas for our tent components, as this offers the best resistance to wear and tear.

This durable body rests on independent suspension, in the case of our caravans. Our patented design makes off-road handling as smooth as can be, with excellent clearances, better handling over obstacles and a steady ride at high speeds. Our trailers use solid beam axles rated for more than a ton beyond what the trailer will weigh even when fully loaded, and our proud Courage camper trailer sports a torsion axle, which makes this lightweight trailer the most nimble off-road camper out there!
